Full Version: Monitor's Refresh Rate

I'd like to change my monitor's refresh rate. It's a MICRON's model and is not recognized by my RedHat 9.0. Anyway under Windows it can hold 100Hz in 800x600 mode, and 75Hz in 1024x768 (all 16M colors). Through the GUI I couldn't change the refresh rate, maybe because I couldn't choose an appropriate type of Generic Monitor. I changed some settings in a file (sorry don't remember which, the config for the X or whatever it's called) and managed to make it work at 75Hz in 800x600 which is unsatisfactory. In 1024x768 mode it works at only 60Hz (or less). The range I've set for the monitor is 75-100.
I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks.
Joey
You should be able to change it by editing /etc/X11/XF86Config
