I'm having trouble getting my slack system to allow my account to have access permission to my music directory which is in my E:Music directory (/e/Music in Linux). I guess its just that I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to permissions in Unix. Thanks in advance,

Eric

What filesystem type is it?

Have a look at questions 20 and 21 on the newbie page - http://www.linuxhelp.ca/newbies/#chown

It's a fat32 partition. I took a look at question 21, and I guess I want read/write permission set for it, but do not need execute since its doesn't have any linux programs on it. The question wasn't very clear on what to do so I guess I'm gonna have to ask you, Joey, to hold my hand and help me through it. Sorry to be such a pain in the butt

chmod 755 /your/directory
