Full Version: Viewing With Nautilus

Hi All,

Newbie here. Running Red Hat 8.0 (Pretty Impressed to far).
While clicking and fumbling my way around I came accross the System Settings, however when I dclick to open, a error box pops up saying "Nautilus does not have a viewer installed to view this". System Settings isn't the only icon that causes this error box/warning box.

1. What does this mean?
2. What viewer do I install?
3. Where do I install it?

If someone could point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated. So to any documentation on this issue.

Thanks
Zulu

Hi,

As root run the following and paste the results:

rpm -qa |grep nautilus

I'm not sure with 8.0 but with 9 there is an rpm called nautlius-media and I believe the file viewer is included with it. If you don't have it installed check on your 8.0 cds or the 8.0 ftp directory to see if it's there.
