Full Version: ./configure Problem With Mdk9.1

Hi,

I am following the procedure in the PHP manual to configure PHP for use with MYSQL.

When I run ./configure --with-mysql --with..............
It stops after a few seconds complaining that it can find output from Lex.

I am new to linux and probably jumping in deeper than I should, howevwe I gotta learn somehow.....

Here is a section of the output from the configure script:

checking bison version... 1.35 (ok)
checking for flex... lex
checking for yywrap in -ll... no
checking lex output file root... ./configure: line 2356: lex: command not found
configure: error: cannot find output from lex; giving up

Any suggestions????

Your going about this the hard way...
urpmi php-mysql

However, if you do want to compile everything, you need the package "flex" according to that error.

I crashed and burned with something else so ended up re-installing.

I'll try your suggestions tonight.
