Full Version: Mounting Audio Cd's
Linuxhelp > Support > Technical Support
I'm having trouble mounting an audio CD, and figured that I was trying to tell linux the wrong fs type. But the thing is that I don't know the name of the fs for an audio CD. I know that data CD's are iso9660, but that didn't work for an audio CD. Thanks,
In short, you cant mount audio CD's, they are in raw format. Windows doesnt mount them either, they just print the contents of the CD. If you are using an application like xmms it should be configured to read from the /dev/cdrom entry if you point it to /mnt/cdrom... I am assuming of course this is a mandrake system as it comes preconfigured like that. So if you are using mandrake just click and hold on Add, and go to directory, and add /mnt/cdrom as the directory. If you are using something else I wish you the best of luck
