Hi - I am a very very newbie to Linux - I have installed Suse Linux 8.2 dual booting with win 98 SE - I had no problems except for the internet connection. YAST2 detects my modem - Intel v.92 Internal modem but does not have the driver - I have downloaded the driver 536ep - to install install instructions say to use Bash and in the root directory of the source files type make clean and then make 536ep and finally make install but when in bash it says that the command make is not recognised.

What am I doing wrong - is there an easy way of installing this driver - does anyone know how to get my modem working???

Sorry for the confusion but it is all very new.

Thanks for any help

When installing SUSE did you select the development package i.e compiler, header files libs etc?

If not then use yast to install all that stuff.
