How can I correct this issue, so make will work?

Did you do ./configure first? Currently I'm trying to install that same thing and having problems as well. I can ./configure and make with no problem. make check doesn't test at all, no fails passes, cuz no test run. And make install flashes by in a second and going to run the gtk2 ./configure tells me atk still isn't installed. Which I figured because the atk install seamed very quick and incomplete.
I was doing some more researching trying to find an answer to my problems... this site helped It was able to give me instructions that used ./configure, make, make install within one command and for some ODD reason it seamed to bypass my problem.
