Hi,

I just installed Linux Mint and I was trying to install Google Chrome for Linux. I clicked on download and then a file with the extension of .rpm ended up in my download folder. I then double-clicked on it and some kind of archive program opened up. I then extracted the files. A few directories were created but I couldn't figure out what to do next. Is there something else I should do to get it officially installed or should I have extracted the files somewhere else? Yes, I am a newbie so it may seem obvious but I can't see where to go from here. Thanks in advance.

rpm is a package manager for Red Hat based distributions. You can download and install chrome via the deb package manager apt-get.
