Hi,

Currently we are working out a connectivity solution for our (very) remote
branches. The only given option is thru mobile (GPRS) connection. We
need to connect a Linux Server (Redhat 7.3) that automatically upload data
(small data around 200to500Kb) and (if possible) check/send emails or
function as a gateway for other PC. I'm trying out my boss's Nokia
6310 (bare) connecting via a serial port. I've already read the how-to's
(particularly http://kotinetti.suomi.net/mcfrisk/linux_gprs.html
and googling) but it seems people just got it working out of 6310i and
other mobile brand.

Have anyone of you ever tried connectiong a Linux box thru GPRS? What's the best
(and atleast lowest cost) Mobile with GPRS capability that you can recommend?
Any tips and guides? We just need them to connect daily just to upload
those required data.

TIA,
~gams

Just for reference. I got my GPRS working with iTegno 3000 GPRS Modem. I'm still preparing the guide how I got it working and pass it to joey.
