Same problem as other guy but with emtec flash drive 8 g Z1467 i think that is the model number I try to open the usb disk in ubuntu 12.10 and get this error message

Error mounting /dev/sdb1 at /media/wxyzsupermod/USB DISK: Command-line `mount -t "vfat" -o "uhelper=udisks2,nodev,nosuid,uid=1000,gid=1000,shortname=mixed,dmask=0077,u
tf8=1,showexec,flush" "/dev/sdb1" "/media/wxyzsupermod/USB DISK"' exited with non-zero exit status 32: mount: /dev/sdb1: can't read superblock

Not sure what most of this means please help solve this without formatting it i know that it might help but I have a file saved on there that I need and didn't save elsewhere I know I'm stupid but please don't point that out

post the output of the command
sudo fdisk -l

It is possible that this drive does not have a partition table and therefore might have to be mounted manually.
Does this drive work in a windows PC?

What is the history of the drive? Flash drives do fail.
