New to linux. I've always used Picasa for editing and after importing nearly 6Gb of photos to my new computer I can open ALL of them in picasa to edit etc BUT I cant get any newly added photos to open up in picasa. I have searched and compared all the properties of the old and new photos and the ONLY difference I can see is under PROPERTIES - IMAGE the last line (12th line of info) says SOFTWARE = PICASA on the original photos and on the newly imported photos NOTHING about software (only 11 lines of info) HOW do I get newly imported photos to associate with picasa please?? - rog

LINUX DEBIAN. don't know how to find version/issue?

I assume you are using gnome.
AFAIK application preferences are changed by right-clicking on the file in question, selecting properties, and going to the Open With tab, then selecting the application you want to use.

That's exactly what I'm doing BUT the new set of photos aren't there. They ARE allocated an 'eye' status which means they should be viewed every time but they just dont get seen. The only difference I can see is when I look in properties then image ALL existing photos have a twelth line which reads "software = picasa" the new photos only have 11 lines of info under "properties/image" How do I associate a new photo to picasa?? (it used to be done automatically on windows. rog
