Hi all.

I think I've just made a huge mistake and over written an entire folders worth of data. About 1.5tb (6 years worth).

I typed the mv command and forgot to put a trailing slash on the end, so it looked like this :

mv /mnt/HD/HD_a2/file1 /mnt/HD/HD_a2/folder

The folder now isnt a folder, it's just a file with no prefix on the end so I cant access any of the files within it.
Have I really lost all the data within?
