Whats this Lie-nix Thing?

So I'm getting an error 500 accessing a part of my website.
Other parts of the site are running fine with a .htaccess in it
but one i put the .htaccess file in this folder to protect one file the whole directory comes up error 500.
any ideas?

below is the .htaccess file


AuthUserFile /correct path/.htpasswd

AuthName "Re"

AuthType Basic

<Files "protected.php">

reuqire user dude
