Hi, I've just (today) installed Mandrake Linux 9.1 on my pc, it is running smoothly all apart from one thing. Whenever i log out or try to shud down the pc my monitor goes into power save mode and i cant get it back out of this, which means the only way to get a picture back on the screen is to manually turn off the power and start up the pc again. I was wondering whether there would be anything in the control panels etc that could resolve this problem (i have already tried turning off the power save features to see if that helps, but to no avail it seems)... any help would be fully appreciated.

Ps, my monitor is a Sony SDM-M51D.

Kelvin.

Well are you sure that monitor goes in to power save mode when you try to logoff or shutdown.

sometimes when you ur monitor or video card is not fully supported, after logging out the xserver fails to restart.so you might get a black screen and that make you to think that this is in power save mode.

but if this is problem then at least you should be able to shutdown ur pc properly.if you can Plz try to post ur Xconfiguration file.
