Sorry, I am kind of new to this. I am interested in learning about Linux, but I am hesitant to use Linux as my exclusive OS until I gain more understanding of it.
Some Info: I have an installation disk for RedHat Linux 9.0. My current OS is Windows (Windows XP SP3) I installed VirtualBox I want to install RedHat as a guest OS on VirtualBox. Dilemma: I am able to run the installation, but when I get to the Disk Partitioning Setup....it always fails. No matter what I choose. I get the following message: Warning: The Partition Table on device hde was unreadable. To create new partitions it must be initialized, causing a loss of ALL data on drive. Would you like to initialize this drive? No matter what I choose, it says that there was an error. I am sorry I am not as computer savvy as many. I am kind of a newbie in all aspects. If anybody could help, it would be greatly appreciated! If you can kindly explain it in easy terms? I am so new to this and I don't even know what mounting and unmounting is. |
