I have a network pc running Windows XP Service Pack 3 that has an HP Deskjet D1420 attached to it via usb [usb001]... I can connect to the network pc successfully from my linux pc [Linux Mint Release 7 (Gloria) Kernel Linux 2.6.28-11-generic]..I can successfully ping the printer once installed using the recommended hpjs driver.. PROBLEM - when I print files from the linux pc it tells me that they have been successfully printed... I go to the windows pc and the printer has not printed I check the printer queue on the windows pc and it shows the job labeled as (remote downlevel document) status-printing.. the fact is, it is not printing I have to then delete the queue just to keep the printer functional for other computers... any help would be greatly appreciated..

Hardware Info:
Windows XP Service Pack 3
Linux Mint 7 Gloria [Kernel Linux 2.6.28-11-generic
HP Deskjet D1420 via USB attached to Windows PC

Can you print a test page. http://localhost:631 is web management tool for cups. Interesting that the job makes it to the spooler but does not print. A quick google did not find any quick answers.
