I've seen this problem on this forum and was not able to figure out how to fix it.

Here is what i'm getting after i enter startx into the command prompt:

reporting problems. (see http://www.xfree86.org/)
build operating system: Linux 2.4.18-11smp i686 [elf]
build host: daffy.perf.redhat.com
then a lot of stuff I don't understand then
(EE) unable to locate/open config file
(EE) error from xf86HandleConfigFile()
Fatal Server Error:
no screen found

What I got from the previous post was that I need to upload some modules. I don't know how to figure out what modules i need.

Thank you,

Jared

Redhat is extremely old and will not support newer hardware out of the box.
I would take a look at Damn Small Linux, deli, puppy or vector. You can check out www.distrowatch.org to see what is out there.

Ok. so the x server has a problem with your video card. Here is some information.

Thank you very much. I installed it again because I thought maybe I missed somthing while I was tending to my 8month old daughter and sure enough I did. It is working fine now except I think I did somthing else wrong because I can't run any files. It says Nautilaus does not have the application to open this file. (something like that). I'm looking on how to download the app.
