I've seen this problem on this forum and was not able to figure out how to fix it.

Here is what i'm getting after i enter startx into the command prompt:

reporting problems. (see http://www.xfree86.org/)
build operating system: Linux 2.4.18-11smp i686 [elf]
build host: daffy.perf.redhat.com
then a lot of stuff I don't understand then
(EE) unable to locate/open config file
(EE) error from xf86HandleConfigFile()
Fatal Server Error:
no screen found

What I got from the previous post was that I need to upload some modules. I don't know how to figure out what modules i need.

Thank you,

Jared

What distribution / version of linux are you running? Redhat ???? Location of files can be different between the distributions.
knowing something abuut your hardware would also help. Video adapter and monitor type.
Does not appear that x was installed correctly since there is a line about a missing config file. If the installer could not properly detect the hardware some module may be missing.
/usr/X11R6/bin/xf86config is the console application to build a config file.
