Whats this Lie-nix Thing?

So I'm trying to become completely independent of windows, and the only thing left that brings me back to it is that in windows, I can get a resolution up to 1440x900, but in Linux, it only allows me to go up to 1024x768. Anyone know how to fix this?

I'm using fedora 10, and the pinned topic said to post Ismod, so here's that:
