How can I learn to use Linux without having to use the command line all the time. I am used to Windows and I want to be able to use Ubuntu in the same way.

I have just install version 8.04 and want to get my external modem to work for my 'dial-up' internet connection but am having a lot of trouble.

It shows a LAN card and the modem manager but I do not know how to set up all the details for my ISP.
I want to use the modem to connect to the internet and not the network.
Also I have tried to un-zip files and when I try to put the new file on the hard drive, how do I find out where it is going.

Thank you for any help you can give me. There are many people in my situation that would like to use Linux but do not want to revert
to a dos like product.

Allan
