Some mild searching(as well as some common sense) tells me that I may have a bad hard drive.

I'm having a slough of problems, SSH, FTP, SFTP, all the sites the server hosts through Apache, Webmin, phpmyadmin, etc, etc. are all incredibly slow, which could be a bad HDD, but I'm not 100% sure.

Trying any commands, including trying to run a fsck, takes forever, so if anyone could help give me any ideas of what else I can do it would be a great help.

I don't have physical access to the box because it's at a server hosting company, so everything must be done remotely.

Thanks in advance for any help!
