I've just subcribed here in th hope of finding some help I'm experiencing with getting a remote control to work with Ubuntu Linux. I chose Ubuntu because I ws advised that this was the best platform for multimedia.
I have a Sony VGX-TP1E multimedia PC and I can't get the MCE20 Windows Media Centre remote to work with mythTV. I have installed lircd, and I have a/dev/lircd present. I have configured it to use the Windows MCE driver and lircd is loding up at startup. However, irw does not work - it drops out immediately instead of displaying the captured input. Additionally, doing a cat /dev/lircd gives a message about it not being a valid device. I cannot find the IrDA device listed in lsusb or lspci, so I don't know where the IrDA sensor is hiding? I can post further infor if required. Can anyone help me to solve this please? |
