Hello guys. tongue.gif
I have thinking about installing Linux on my Laptop for a couple of months now. However, I want to be sure if my hardware works with Linux.
My computer spec at the moment is:

nVidia GeForce 8600M GT
IntelCore 2 Duo T7500 @ 2,20Ghz
4GB DDR2 667/PC5300 SODIMM
200GB 7200rpm SATA Harddisk

If anyone knows that Linux will support my hardware please tell me, (any help at all appreciated.)

Also, what Linux should I choose? I am using my laptop mainly for playing games like Counter-Strike Source, Doom 3, and World Of Warcraft, I use it for school projects aswell.
I was thinking of Ubuntu..

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Best Regards,
Fred

Sorry for my bad english, it's not my mothertongue

Your written english is very good.
Ubuntu is a good beginner linux distribution. You can see what is popular at www.distrowatch.com

linux can not natively run windows applications. Many applications including some games such as WoW do run via WINE which is an API.
I do not play games so I do not know how well they work. Depending on what you use for school projects I suggest duel boot option so you
can still run windows for those non WINE compatable applications.
