Whats this Lie-nix Thing?

I am new to the linux world, and wish to learn on how to use. Simple things like acessing the cdrom, or instaliing a new program, are my main problems. useing unbutu.

Accessing the CD drive is as simple as inserting a disk. Give it a try. Installing programs in Ubuntu is done with tools like Synaptic which is available from the System > Administration menu. From the command line you use apt-get, for example apt-get install cardgame.

If your CD doesn't autostart, you might find it in "/media/cdrom" (maybe /mnt/cdrom - Maybe some variation on the two)
