I am running FC5, and have just downloaded Firefox 2.0 which i want to install. I have managed to download it, and extract it all just fine.

What I don't know (as a newbie) is just where I should be installing these things. I have found a file called firefox in /usr/bin. But this directory does not contain all the other stuff that came with the Firefox 2.0 tar ball like the .so files for example.

So my question is this, where should I be installing applications, as a general rule, and specifically where do I install Firefox?
