Whats this Lie-nix Thing?

Hi i have just installed linux mandriva, when i come to the login screen i type my 6 letter login name, the fifth letter is letter "i" but when i tap the letter i it comes on the screen as 5? so obviously i cant login does anyone know what the problem is?

Is this a laptop or a regular desktop PC? Some laptop computers have a numeric pad on the regular keypad so make sure the numlock key is off.

Hi thanks for the reply, yes it is a laptop and i made sure the numlock is off, but when i turn the numlock on the caps lock also comes on, do you think i should re-install linux?

p.s it works fine when im in windows
