Hi all,

Wonder if someone could help, i'm very new to linux - in fact just this week. I've setup a linux box with the Fedora front end. I'm trying to use vnc with it, I can accept connections ok, but when trying to remote connect to somewhere else it fails, well sort of fails.

I'm using the vnc package which I downloaded off RealVnc but some of the servers I'm trying to connect to are using the domain for authentication and it fails coming with an error of

CConn: connnected to host xx.xx.xx.xx port 5900
CConnection: Server supports RFB protocol version 3.4
CConnection: Using RFB protocol version 3.3

I'm using the inbuilt client, I've tried to connect using firefox but it is failing to use the java plugin. bummer!!

I think i understand what it is saying - the local rfb protocol isn't compatible with the one running on the server but if i am right how do I upgrade the RFB protocol on the local machine?

Thanks in advance
Andy
