I have just linux installed on my laptop. It's Kubuntu. I descided to upgrade the grub that comes with it to version 1.94 and now when I try to load linux I just get the Grub prompt. If I type boot it gives an error that there is no kernel loaded. I did some googleing and it seemed that I needed to use the command kernel first, but that command does not exist.... Any help is greatly appreciated! If I could just know how to use the command prompt to boot linux I'm sure I could fix it....

Regards,

Trevor

The correct commands are:
grub> root (hd0,1)
grub> kernel /vmlinuz root=/dev/sda2 ro
grub> boot

Replace the root device and kernel name with the actual device of your system.

Once boot into linux you can reinstall grub.
