Can anybody help? I have a problem with networking - appears to be DNS.

Setup:
Mail Server running Fedora Core 3 on DMZ behind an IPCop firewall.
IPTables firewall running on this box.

What works:
I can browse t'internet just fine from this box.

What doesn't:
Freshclam - to update ClamAV signatures. Can't seem to find anything at all.
Fetchmail - used to work often enough to be OK. Nothing's changed but now doesn't work at all. Complains about DNS errors.

I'm lost. Any help very much appreciated.

My first instinct is that the server that those services are checking doesn't exist any more. That happens every now and then.

Double check your /etc/resolv.conf and /etc/hosts to make sure you don't have anything odd defined.

Then, see if you can figure out what servers they are trying to connect to and see if you can check things manually via telnet and ping. Thats where I would start.
