My Question is, can you switch from graphic mode to text mode ?
System: Linux CentOS

To just switch to a text VT, press "ctrl-alt-F1" (F1-6 should be text). "ctrl-alt-F7" is usually the graphical one.

To actually kill the GUI, run "init 3" as root- Then "init 5" to get back to GUI.
