First the stats
Mandrake 8.2 athlon 2100 xp on abit mobo abit geforce 4 4200 video sb live 5.1 sound When I try to run hardrake or any other app that configures or examines the hardware the screen blacks out leaving only a cursor where I can type but it does not respond to commands. I personally think it's a issue with the video card. Does anyone have any ideas/solutions? --Newbie |

Hello,
Perhaps you are missing some updates - http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/security/m...es.php3?dis=8.2 Is this just for video hardware or is it for everything, like if you try and configure an ethernet card? |

It basically looks like it crashes whenever an app tries to probe any hardware to see what it is.
What log files might be a good place to start looking? Maybe something in there could help me. |
