Hi guys,

I want to upgrade kernel from 2.6.11 to,
I download new kernel from

# tar jxf linux- -> extract to /usr/src/linux-
# make oldconfig ( then press enter for all questions)
# make dep
# make clean
# make bzImage
# cp arch/i386/boot/bzImage /boot/vmlinuz-
# make modules
# make modules_install
# mkinitrd -k /boot/vmlinuz- /boot/initrd-
do lilo configuration (add new lines for vmlinuz- & initrd-
# lilo -v
# restart machine

after the select new kernel
after appears some lines ...
give this error

"Waiting for device /dev/sda1 to appears: ..... resume device /dev/sda1 not found (ignoring)"
"loading kernel/fs/raiserfs/raiserfs.ko"
"Waiting for device /dev/root to appears: ..... not found -- exiting to /bin/sh"
"sh: can't access tty: job control turned off"

I test in VMWare 5.0, because I can't test on real machine sad.gif

I try to build kernel with SCSI (build in , not M), but same result
