I am trying to install DSL on an old windows 95 machine at school in my computer tech class. The partition isnt in ext3 format and i cant format it to ext3 through DOS or DSL. Please help.

Are you following these instructions?

You can not format an ext3 partition via DOS. It looks like the hard drive installer automatically creates an ext2 filesystem.
