Okay, I'm trying to understand exactly what a kernel is.
I've tried searching google and all I find is for the linux kernel, what I want is not the linux kernel
I want somehelp on understanding what a kernel on it's most basic level is and how is works.
I know that it interfaces with the hardware but thats not enough.

If anyone could help me that would be great
