I have recently installed multiple distros of Linux and have had issues with the boot loader. I have windows and first hard drive and a lot of partitions of the second. Linux is installed on some of these partitions. I have Debian 3.1r0a in addition to Mandravia free 2006. I have tried to modify my current boot.ini in windows (the only os i can boot into) load a weird setup to launch grub once in grub i have an error like a wrong image point (or something like that) Do i need to create a /boot partition? I would kinda like to use grub as my boot loader. What is a good route of going about this?

Can you post the exact error message? And, if possible, your grub.conf file

After much more messing around with it I was able to repair grub using knoppix. I still have a few kinks in my system but at least now I am able to boot into the other operating systems. Thanks
