I just installed Mandriva 2006 and everything went smoothly. After I reboot and login as user I get this: [john@localhost ~]$ What exactly do I have to do to get to the desktop?

Did you try "startx" ? It is the command to start the Graphical USer interface.

If you get any errors..while doint startx...it means your X configuration is screwed up...just post the errors..i hope experts here will sort them out in minutes... smile.gif
