Hi,
I'm trying t get video4linux running on a Fedora_2.6.4 system. The card is a Winfast2000XP (I think a DL or deluxe version). So far I haven't been able to select a card=xx and tuner=yy combination that works even moderately well. The same card works fne under Win98 - so it is not a dud card problem.

Some details:
The card has the following chips and assorted bits:
Conexant Fusion 878A chip - 25878-13 0442YIVN 0442 Taiwan notations

Tuner device is labelled Winfast TV2000XP Deluxe 412529D
Hidden under that label was another: PA2MF52DAM P4H233 Partsmic
Inside the tuner can the tuner PCB is labelled: PA2MF52NA/B/C (Rev 2.0)
Inside tuner are what appear to be crsytals - labelled: SC4.0M433 and another SB6326 D3423

When the bttv module loads, the dmesg output reads:
Dec 2 16:04:21 celeron kernel: bttv: driver version 0.9.12 loaded
Dec 2 16:04:21 celeron kernel: bttv: using 8 buffers with 2080k (520 pages) each for capture
Dec 2 16:04:21 celeron kernel: bttv: Bt8xx card found (0).
Dec 2 16:04:21 celeron kernel: bttv0: Bt878 (rev 17) at 0000:00:11.0, irq: 10, latency: 64, mmio: 0xdddfe000
Dec 2 16:04:21 celeron kernel: bttv0: subsystem: 107d:6609 (UNKNOWN)
Dec 2 16:04:21 celeron kernel: bttv0: using: *** UNKNOWN/GENERIC *** [card=0,autodetected] Dec 2 16:04:21 celeron kernel: bttv0: using tuner=-1
Dec 2 16:04:21 celeron kernel: bttv0: i2c: checking for MSP34xx @ 0x80... not f
ound Dec 2 16:04:21 celeron kernel: bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA9875 @ 0xb0... not found
Dec 2 16:04:21 celeron kernel: bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA7432 @ 0x8a... not f
ound Dec 2 16:04:21 celeron kernel: bttv0: registered device video0 Dec 2 16:04:21 celeron kernel: bttv0: registered device vbi0
Dec 2 16:04:21 celeron kernel: bttv0: registered device radio0

I've found elsewhere the suggestion that card=34 tuner=38 is a good bet - but it doesn't work at all well.
I suspect I may have managed to stumble across a tuner not yet documented because I can't find a description which matches mine in any of the discussions I have so far gleaned in various forums.

So far I have tried all tuner combinations in my READLIST file with card 34 - to no avail.

Has anyone else run into this tuner?

With bottom lip starting to quiver ... heeelp? smile.gif

cheers

Have you tried "tuner=5" ? what happens when you try it? Nothing at all, or is the picture just screwy?
