how do i find out which driver i need to have loaded for lvm? if that driver shows up in lsmod, does that mean that is loaded and working correctly?

If the module shows up in lsmod then yes it is loaded, but it may or may not be configured correctly. It has to have reached a certian level of correctness in order to launch, but it might launch and not work.

I know very little about LVM so I can't tell you much about it.
