Whats this Lie-nix Thing?

I'm getting an error while unacing a file which is 686 mb. It says that the disk maybe write protected.. but the file is on my harddrive and I'm root while unacing..

any help would be greatful

Sounds to me like you got the blasted CRC errors. Next to kernel panics, those are my worst nightmare. I'm not sure if there is a utility for linux for trying to fix an aced file. i've never tried ACE in linux, just in Windows.

by write protected its talking about where you are putting it not where it is.
