Whats this Lie-nix Thing?

i'm new to linux, changed resolution, restarted, now it wont come up in graphical mode and i have a black screen that says login, what do i do.

Well, first of all log in.

Secxondly, tell us what distribution you are using, and try searching the forums for this problem. It comes up 5 or 6 times a month. Try running "startx" once yttou have logged in, and either the GUI will start, or you will get an error. Tell us the error message, so that we actually have something to work from.
