I just got a new motherboard ( rather an older one, but new to me ) which has a onboard realtech 6 channel sound card. Currently I have a AOPEN Cobra aw850 5.1 card I bought new for only 19.99 in it and i'm thinking to myself would leaving it out Really affect my system. The specs are in my Signature. I've heard rumor that having a pci card saves work on the processor and gives an extra FPS. but this card isnt really the best hardware card. if it even is. Any ideas?

Onbaord sound cards use pretty much the same chips as a PCI one. A lot of them are wired up as if they were PCI too, just to make life easier. I daresay there is no difference.
