While i was using suse9.3 there was a power outage shutting my computer off immediately. Whenever i start my computer up the backgroud goes black except for the programs i am using. When i try to shutdown the computer does just about everthing correctly except it says "system down" on the screen and and stays there. Thc system won't completely shut off. I have a AMD Anthlon XP3000+ CPU Barton Core 333FSB, Maxtor 160GB EIDE HD 7200/8MB/ATA-133, Chaintech 7NJL6 Socket A Motherboard ,Ultra 512MB PC3200 DDR 400MHz CL3. I just bought the computer and put it together myself had it about a week. Every thing was working fine until then. Also there is this weird squeeking noise the computer is making now. I am a newbie to linux and would appreciate all the help i could get. Thanks.
