Hi!

I have a Pinnacle PCTV card with a bt878 chip and Gentoo linux Kernel 2.6.12
I have Video4linux, the bt848 driver i2c & I2C bit-banging interfaces compiled as modules.

now when i try to modprobe bttv i get

CODE
FATAL: Error inserting bttv (/lib/modules/2.6.12-gentoo-r6/kernel/drivers/media/video/bttv.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)

and dmesg gives this error a hundred times...

CODE
bttv: Unknown symbol release_firmware
bttv: Unknown symbol request_firmware

in /etc/modules.d/bttv

i have
options bttv tuner=2 card=39 radio=0 automute=0

lsmod:
CODE
Module                  Size  Used by
tuner                  27944  0
video_buf              18692  0
i2c_algo_bit            9992  0
v4l2_common             5760  0
btcx_risc               5000  0

videodev                8448  0

Thanks in advance
