Okay,

I have Redhat 8.0 running.. I cant seem to get SSH running, I dont remember but I think the ssh files were in like /var/something/ssh/ and there were a few files, one was ssh_config and sshd_config, Do I have to install the package first? or is it install automaticly? Im lost.. I just did the setup and pretty much use it for like IRCing and Webing. I need SSH so I can setup a IRCd network and hopefully get apache running if I ever learn how to.. heeeeelp!

ssh is installed automatically

the log files are stored in /var/log
and the config files are stored in /etc/ssh

try to do the following:

type ssh localhost

if it asks for a username and then password
it is running

if not you will have to type the following as root

/etc/rc.d/init.d/sshd start
