My dad turned off our computer by holding down the power button, and now when we start it back up, a dos looking screen comes up and tells us that it was turned off the wrong way. But i have no clue what to type in to get out of the screen so i can use my computer. Yes i have linux, my cousin built us that computer and we dont really know our way around it yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Does it say anything else? Do you know what distribution you are using? (eg Suse, Fedora, Mandrake, Ubuntu)

Sometimes you can press control + D to boot up

D

Its Fedora. And i cant really remember what it says because we havent used it it a while. And in order to use it i have to hook it all up again. But i will do that and see if control+d works. Thanks for the help.
