New Linux user. Not stupid - just ignorant. "Older gentleman" doesn't know from programming and such. Need help, but you have to speak slooowly and loudly.

The problem:
Launch; Applications; Multimedia says I have RealPlayer 10.
When I select it, the hour glass spins for a while and then goes away.
Went on line and downloaded free application for Linux.
I have a membership on a different computer.
Home page comes up with all the appropriate information.
When I select a station to play, no discernable results.
File Manger in My Home, it shows RealPlayer 10-5GOLD_bb.exe 11,220 kb and RealPlayer 10GOLD.bin 5,615 kb.
Open doesn't open anything.
My speakers work with the CD player.

First of all , can you tell us which version of GNU/Linux you are using.?

Why the RealPlayer fails to start can be understood , if you launch the same application from the command window and tell us the output of the command.

I am not yet able to understand , what Realxyz.exe is doing in GNU/Linux.probably you have downloaded both the versions.
