I have a torrent tracker setup on my server and right now to start it up I connect to my box and execute a file called bnbt_scren which looks like this:

screen -dmS TRACKER ./bnbt

I want to have that execute when the server starts up, so I copied that file to /etc/rc.d/init.d and changed it to include the full path to the bnbt tracker:

screen -dmS TRACKER ./home/httpd/vhosts/

That doesn't seem to work. I'm fairly new to linux, so is there anything I did wrong with the file?

screen -dmS TRACKER ./home/httpd/vhosts/

screen -dmS TRACKER /home/httpd/vhosts/

Your way, it's trying to execute it in:

Which probably isn't where it's located. wink.gif

Also, I'm not sure what distro you use, but you'll probably have to do this as well:

cp /etc/rc.d/init.d/bnbt /etc/rc2.d/S85bnbt
cp /etc/rc.d/init.d/bnbt /etc/rc2.d/K85bnbt
(make sure to set the permissions you need on them!)

Where rc#.d = your runlevel at start (these may be in another directory)
