Hi there,

We've got an RAQ550 running Red Hat, I'm not sure of the exact variant or version.

The system has two network interfaces. eth0 will be connected to the internet with a static IP and used by apache, mailserver, etcetera. eth1 will retrieve a DHCP lease from the local network so that the server is accessible by the local computers by SMB.

For the most part it works fine. Unfortunately, when the eth1 comes online, or retrieves a new DHCP lease, it overwrites the system's GATEWAY in the /etc/sysconfig/network file. This causes eth0 with it's static IP to malfunction. We've been crawling through the network's configuration scripts but can't seem to find where it is stipulated to change the system gateway when the lease is renewed.

Can anyone help? Thanks.
