hi all

am new to the linux scene.have been useing it mainly just to learn to program in c and compile.
Have recently thought of getting a snitz forum up and running and thought it would be a good little pet
project for linux.

Until i got involved. was going to use mysql as the dataB, downloaded the RPM & installed..
but seems its a bit harder than what i imagined.

Is this way out the scope of a newbie ?, should i return to the world of windows..

the rpm is installed ,var/lib/mysql ,but no dir for /script
have troubles with the setup differences between binarys and rpm's

not sure whether to give up yet.

thanks in advance
