I just got done updating my Slackware 10 kernel from 2.4.9 to 2.6.10. I kept the old one as default while testing, and when I tried booting up the 2.6.10 kernel, it couldn't locate the root partition. Luckily the 2.4 stills boots fine. This time I took a look at the graphical lilo reader, instead of just typing in the location of my root partition, I browsed for it. hda1 (my root partition) shows up for 2.4 when I browse, but when I browse for hda1 for 2.6, it appears to be missing.

Any ideas why this is?

Here is my Lilo config:

CODE
# LILO configuration file
# generated by 'liloconfig'
#
# Start LILO global section
boot = /dev/hda1
message = /boot/boot_message.txt
prompt
timeout = 1200
# Override dangerous defaults that rewrite the partition table:

# Normal VGA console
# vga = normal
# VESA framebuffer console @ 1024x768x64k
# vga=791

# End LILO global section
# Linux bootable partition config begins

root="/dev/hda1"
